California Dealers are one-step closer to officially re-opening as the Department of Homeland Security today released VERSION 3.0 OF GUIDANCE ON ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKERS DURING COVID-19, which has specifically added auto sales as essential.
Although this is not a federal mandate, CISA Director Christopher Krebs said: “[F]inal decisions remain with state and local officials, who must determine how to balance public health and safety with the need to maintain critical infrastructure in their communities.”
This is a great step toward California Dealers officially being declared as an essential business. Here is the relevant highlights of the updated Guidance:
• “Workers critical to … sales…of vehicles” are essential.
